South Wall

S wall: width 3.40 m, max. preserved height 4.40 m. In the lower parts of the wall, some areas are covered with plaster. Between 2.00 and 3.65 m high, the entire width of the wall is covered by modern concrete, containing small pieces of lapilli. Underneath, the wall consists of lava-incertum in the reddish mortar, except for a 0.60 m wide and 1.90 m high area at the south-west corner, next to the door towards V 1,3. Here the material is mixed with Sarno stone, cruma and spolias of plaster. Above 3.40 - 3.65 m height, the opus incertum of red cruma in the reddish mortar is again visible.
