Description

The pavement of this room consists of cocciopesto, adorned with some geometric pattern laid out with white tesserae (app. 0.01 m²). Since most of the surface of the floor is destroyed, only a few remains of these patterns are preserved along the north wall. A frame of white tesserae runs 0.035 m in front of the wall and attached to that, a row of rhomboids, 0.18 m long, 0.10 m wide (outer corner tessera as part of the frame in front of the wall), as it seems without dividing lines, are preserved. This pavement reaches under the plaster of the walls and does not abut against the thresholds. The area in front of the threshold towards V 1,3 seems to be a later repair, since the bedding here is of a slightly coarser structure compared to the bedding in the rest of the room.
