South Wall

Description

Thomas Staub

S wall: width: 3.30 m, max. preserved height: 5.00 m (at least partly antique). Plaster covers nearly the entire wall, up to 3.30 m height, with remains of decorations. Only in the upper western zone, a part of the masonry is visible, covered by a thick layer of modern mortar. Here it seems to consist of an opus incertum of mainly red cruma and lava. The original mortar is not visible on this side of the wall.
