North Wall

Description

Thomas Staub

Width: 1.7 m, max preserved height: 3.65 m. The lower part of the wall (up to approx. 1.7 m) is made of a mixed opus incertum of mainly sarno stone, but also containing lava and cruma. In the bottom area some under plaster is preserved. The upper part of the walls consists of larger blocks (up to 0.35 x 0.20 m) of sarno stone, cruma and tufa and could very well be a modern reconstruction.
