Room c
Description
Thomas Staub
This room is situated to the north of the fauces and is reached through corridor h. Like most other rooms of the house it had an upper floor as well. A window opening up towards the street provided the room with light. The walls are constructed of different materials, indicating several building and repair phases. Concerning the function of the room nothing can be said today, as no indicators are preserved nor reported in the scanty excavation reports form this house. Remains of simple reddish, water protecting plaster in the south east corner of the room could be an indication for a lower status of this room. Numerous small holes, mainly in the south and east wall, could indicate that one of the functions might have been some kind of storage, were artefacts were hanged on nails inserted into the walls.
For security reason the floor could not be studied.
