Room k
Description
A. Karivieri & R. Forsell
The long and narrow corridor k, 5.35 m long and 1.20-1.42 m wide, north of the tablinum, leads from the atrium to the peristyle area. The north wall is preserved only up to 1.74 m. In the east there was a small entrance to tricliniumm, 0.75 m. wide.
There are remains of wall-plaster on north and south walls, although most of the painting is gone. On the north wall the lower zone seems to have been white and above are traces of red wall painting, possibly a panel.
The floor is almost totally destroyed. In the west towards the atrium there was an Apennine limestone threshold. While in the east the threshold was made out of three limestone slabs.
The west corner of the north wall is facetted and seems to have been a later alteration.
