Floor in the alah
Cantharos border: outer dimensions of the border are 2.80 m x 0.40 m (outer line with two rows of white tesserae). To N and S the border is lined with three horizontal rows of black tesserae, a black-coloured design on white ground, including a central cantharos and a vine with four leaves flanking the cantharos to left and right. The design is further emphasized with 1-2 rows of white tesserae.
Two secondary polished stone blocks are placed at the W and E ends of the border. W: 39x21 cm; E broken: 54x11.5 cm (width 8 cm to S). The eastern block is broken in five pieces.
There is a 18 cm broad area (N-S) with diagonally placed black tesserae between the border and the white central panel. The size of the central panel is 2.905 m x 1.53 m. The central panel consists of following elements: 1: Centre: diagonally placed white tesserae. 2: Three horizontally placed rows of white tesserae. 3: Two horizontally placed rows of black tesserae. 4: Three horizontally placed rows of white tesserae. 5: Three horizontally placed rows of black tesserae. Finally, the outermost area is covered by diagonally placed black tesserae.
The tessera size is c. 1x1 cm. The secondary stone blocks by the border have destroyed part of the mosaic floor. At the W side against wall there is a marble slab, size 0.47x0.04 m. At the E side there is the threshold to room u placed against the wall.
