Room e
Description
Henrik Boman & Monica Nilsson
Room e comprises the SE corner of the building with a single entrance way from room d. At an earlier stage, a doorway connected it to the North House of Casa di L. Caecilius Iucundus (V 1, 23).
Even though they are heavily restored, the beam holes of room e are the clearest evidence of an upper floor in the house. The N and S walls have each six beam holes, the E wall has three cavities of larger size, while the upper part of the W wall is reconstructed and yields no evidence at all.
Reddish plaster is preserved on all four walls.
A window open to room f was the main light source of the room.
