Room f
Description
Henrik Boman & Monika Nilsson
Room f is accessible from both the atrium and room e (tablinum). A closed door in the eastern wall shows that the room once had access to the rear area of the house. The room then also functioned as a passage, presumably instead of the passage later created through room e.
A terracotta pipe in the southeastern corner of the room runs down from a presumed upper floor and meets up with a filled-in conduit below the floor. The conduit crosses the room and continues under the threshold towards the atrium. These are presumably remains of the earlier layout of the house. Room f was not in the original layout, instead this space was part of an open area, much larger than the present peristyle, at the back of the building.
In the S wall was a cavity containing a cache of small finds.
