Window 2

Window in S wall
Remains of what could have been a roughly round window were identified in the southern wall at a level of 1.7m above the present floor. It is discernible on both sides of the wall, i.e. in rooms (V 1,13a and V 1,14i), though only small fragments of red plaster were traceable. The dimensions were approximately 0.4m in height, and 0.3m in width. The window is now sealed, presumably an action taken in antiquity and, perhaps, required by the ruined state of the wall. In the area between the orthostat and the niche (lararium?), there are, namely, large quantities of brick/tile, which might refer to an ancient repair.
